When is it needed to have a tooth filling in Turkey?

Dental fillings are used to repair teeth damaged by decay or other damage that results in the patient’s tooth losing up to a third of its material. The treatment involves the dentist removing decayed tissue from the patient’s teeth and filling them with artificial material, such as composite or amalgam. Teeth filling Turkey can be used to restore up to fifty per cent of the patient’s tooth, as long as the decay does not reach under the gums. Many modern dental restorations use porcelain in their composition, which may make them unsuitable for patients with bruxism.

How much is a filling in Turkey?

The cost of dental fillings at Parmire depends on what material the filling is using. Some materials, such as composite resin, are much more affordable than porcelain used for inlays. The prices for dental fillings at Parmire go from £50 to £55.

The costs of dental treatments in Turkey are much more affordable than in Western European countries because Turkey has low living costs, and the government offers clinics financial aid to keep their pieces down without decreasing quality.

Process of Dental Filling

Turkey is the global leader in medical tourism, with low prices for high-quality treatments attracting the majority of patients. Financial aid allows clinics to use premium-quality dental materials without increasing the price. Furthermore, it is less expensive to conduct business in Turkey because of the low living cost. Clinic overheads are lower, so treatment prices do not cost a premium.

This does not affect quality, as overheads include rent and other expenses that do not directly affect how the service is delivered.

Patients who ask themselves: “How much would a filling be in Turkish holding?” need to remember that prices at our clinic include all the necessary services for the treatment. This allows the patient to have a dental filling treatment knowing it won’t have any hidden costs.

At Parmire, apart from the dental filling treatment, the price includes anaesthesia and other necessary medication. The price for dental fillings also includes online consultations and dental examination costs.

Materials used for dental fillings in Turkey

There are several materials used for dental filling treatments at Parmire. They differ in cost, durability and appearance. Our dentists will help you choose the best material for your dental filling treatment during a free online consultation. The choice of material depends on the patient’s needs and what tooth is treated. Molars, for example, rarely benefit from the more aesthetic types of dental fillings.

Composite fillings

Composite fillings in Turkey

Composite tooth fillings are made from a combination of several materials, typically polymer resin and plastic. Composite tooth fillings can use either acrylic or epoxy resin. Composite dental fillings closely mimic the appearance of tooth enamel, so they are suitable for use on anterior teeth. Dental restorations that use composite resin can last up to eight years as they do not bond to the tooth as strongly as other dental fillings.

Furthermore, most types of composite tooth fillings are not as durable as alternatives, making them a poor fit for molar restoration. The cost of composite tooth fillings at our clinic is £40.

Porcelain fillings

Porcelain fillings in Turkey

Porcelain, or ceramic, dental fillings are durable and natural-looking, but the rigidity of the material makes it necessary to use special installation techniques. Porcelain tooth fillings are more often called dental inlays or onlays, depending on what part of the tooth they replace. Because the material needs a certain minimum volume for maximum stability, porcelain tooth fillings can’t restore teeth with very small cavities.

While other types of dental fillings are shaped right on the patient’s tooth, porcelain fillings are made in a lab and attached to the tooth using an adhesive. The cost of porcelain tooth fillings at our clinic is £50.

Amalgam fillings

Amalgam fillings in Turkey

Amalgams are alloys of mercury and other metals. They have been used for dental restorations for a long time. While gold amalgams were more popular in the past, nowadays, dentists prefer to install silver amalgam dental fillings. Although amalgams contain mercury, it is completely bound in the amalgam and does not pose a health risk. Silver amalgam is very durable and can last up to fifteen years.

It is a preferred type of dental restoration for molar teeth. Apart from mercury and silver, silver amalgams can contain copper, tin and zinc in varying proportions. Silver amalgam looks very similar to silver, so it is unsuitable for aesthetic tooth restoration. Because of this, it is seldom installed on the anterior teeth. This type of dental filling is relatively inexpensive and costs £45 at our clinic.

Glass ionomer fillings

Glass ionomer fillings in Turkey

Glass ionomer tooth fillings are inexpensive and short-lasting dental restorations used to treat deciduous teeth in children. The material rarely lasts more than several years and is not particularly natural-looking. Glass ionomer cement can be enriched with fluoride to protect teeth from decay. Phosphate cement may be used as an alternative to glass ionomer. The cost of glass ionomer tooth fillings at our clinic is £40.

How is a dental filling treatment performed?

The first step of a Turkey cavity filling treatment is a dental check-up. The dentist will evaluate the damage to the patient’s tooth and will recommend one of the dental filling materials for the treatment. Dental restoration treatments are performed in a single visit, except for ceramic inlays and onlays, which require separate visits for preparing teeth for installation and the installation itself.

Preparation

The dentist will apply local anaesthesia to perform the tooth restoration treatment. Small cavities can sometimes be treated without anaesthesia. Then, the dentist will clean the cavity, removing decayed matter and weakened tooth material. This step is required to prevent secondary cavity formation after treatment is completed. After this, the dentist will disinfect the cleaned cavity using an antibacterial gel and apply an adhesive to the cavity. The adhesive is then slightly polymerised under a UV lamp. This step will help the material used for dental restoration to have the maximum possible adhesion to the natural tooth.

Forming the dental filling

If the cavity reaches the soft tissues but are not damaged, the dentist will place an isolating pad between the soft tissues and the tooth’s dentin. It will prevent the nerves in the soft tissues from stimulation, which can cause toothache. Then, the dentist will build up the patient’s tooth filling layer by layer. He will place a small amount of dental filling material and then harden it under the UV lamp, repeating the process until the tooth filling is completed.

Polishing

After the dental filling is completed, the dentist polishes it to make the surface smooth. Smoothing also helps to prevent tartar formation. The dentist will also make final adjustments to the shape during this step, ensuring it fits properly with the tooth on the opposite jaw.

Dental filling aftercare

After getting replacement fillings in Turkey, it is important to follow proper oral hygiene. Tooth restorations can’t fully recover the functions of the original tooth, as they are not as durable as dental enamel and have an obvious fault line at the point of connection between the restorative material and the tooth. It is paramount that the patient takes care not to damage restored teeth via tooth grinding or eating very hard foods.

The patient should have regular check-ups at their dentist to maintain their tooth restorations to ensure they retain their function for the guaranteed service life. Contact Parmire for a detailed online consultation, during which our doctors will help you choose the best dental restoration and book your treatment.
