Tooth extraction in Turkey is a procedure that doctors try to resort to in the most extreme cases. Modern dentistry aims to do everything possible to save the patient’s tooth and its function.
However, there are cases when the tooth is not subject to restoration, and its further preservation will face great problems for the patient himself. Then the dental surgeons of the Parmire clinic take up their work and always do it at the highest professional level.
What is Tooth Extraction?
Tooth extraction may be necessary for patients of different ages and with different problems. It is not uncommon for dentists to perform the extraction of baby teeth in patients at an early age. There is nothing dangerous or bad about the extraction procedure then. After all, a new molar tooth will grow in place of the milk tooth.
However, when adult patients need a dental extraction procedure in Turkey, this is already a more difficult and unpleasant case. Since problems with teeth that can lead to their removal are always quite serious. The most common reason for adult teeth extraction in Turkey is caries. People often ignore the pain in the tooth or the presence of black spots on their teeth and do not see the doctor in time until they miss the boat. This is sad because so many surgeries could have been avoided if people had not put off their treatment and gone to the dentist.
Dentists of the Parmire clinic recommend visiting a dentist at least once every half a year for a routine examination of your mouth. This will help you avoid unnecessary health problems and extra money spending.
Cost of Tooth Extraction in Turkey
If we talk about the cost of tooth extraction in Turkey, the procedure will not cost an arm and a leg. The cost is calculated individually in each case, depending on:
- how many teeth need to be extracted
- what method of tooth extraction should be used
- how complex and lengthy the surgeries will be
Each case is undoubtedly unique, as is each patient, but the experience of our specialists helps to find a solution in any situation. Being confident in the professionalism of the people you trust with your health is always very important for any patient, and our clients can be 100% sure in the Parmire clinic dentists. All of our specialists have undergone through many years of practice and training before coming to our clinic. So you don’t have anything to worry about.
Why is it Important to Visit the Dentist on Time?
Many people, given the pace of modern life, delay visits to the dentist or even believe that they can examine their mouth and teeth for dental cavities. “If the black spot on the tooth is small, then there is nothing to worry about, the tooth can endure for some time until I finish a new project or finally find a job I like and with a high salary,” many of our clients who came for teeth extraction in our clinic thought so.
The problem is that a person cannot fully examine his mouth and tooth for cavities, since for this you also need to have non-superficial knowledge of dentistry and special dentist equipment.
Let’s figure out what dental cavities is and why it occurs. After all, very often it is this disease that leads to the fact that the patient needs to undergo a tooth extraction procedure. Dental cavities are the destruction of the tooth enamel, and later of the soft tissues under the tooth enamel, which are called dentin, which is caused by the appearance of bacteria on the tooth enamel.
When a person does not properly care for the oral cavity, for example:
- does not brush teeth at all
- not brushing teeth properly
- does not use the right brush and toothpaste
- ignores regular visits to the dentist for preventive purposes bacteria begin to feel at home on the tooth enamel.
The purpose of the bacteria that remain on the teeth, with improper oral hygiene, is to get to the lower tissues of the tooth and destroy them. And for this, it is enough to make only a tiny spot on the visible part of the tooth enamel for the patient.
In What Cases is Tooth Extraction Done?
Depending on several factors, doctors choose between two methods for performing tooth extractions:
- non-surgical extraction
- surgical extraction
Non-surgical Extraction
Doctors use this method when the teeth to be extracted are visible to the naked eye and can be removed without additional incisions and surgery. The process of teeth extraction using this method does not imply anything complicated or dangerous.
Before extracting a tooth, the dentist must loosen it from the tooth socket, and after that, the tooth is pulled out using special dental appliances. The extraction procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, so the patient will not feel any discomfort at all.
The Parmire dentists are always very sensitive to any patient’s feelings during treatment. If you feel pain or other discomforts during treatment, it is important to talk about it so that the doctor has the opportunity to apply the necessary measures.
Surgical Extraction of Teeth
This method is used in several cases, here are a few of them:
- the tooth to be removed is in the gum
- the tooth to be removed has broken off along the gum line, and its main part remains inside
- a tooth that cannot be removed without an incision in the gums
In this case, the doctor performs the extraction procedure in several stages, which will be described below. The purpose of the procedure is to facilitate access to the tooth by incision of the gums. The extraction procedure is of course carried out under local anaesthesia to make the treatment pain-free. At the request of the patient, doctors can also apply general anaesthesia so that the patient does not feel not only pain but also any other uncomfortable sensations.
How is Tooth Extraction in Turkey Performed?
Consultations and Examinations
At this stage, the doctor prescribes various examinations to the patient to understand the condition of the client’s teeth. It can be either an X-ray or CT scan. The doctor tells the client about the steps of the extraction procedure and the price list of our clinic. It is important to understand that there is no such thing as a free lunch. However, all of our prices for dental treatments are set to be affordable for tourists and local people.
During the preparation phase, it is also important to be honest about all the dentist’s questions, and to talk about all possible chronic diseases, as they can influence how the dentist decides to perform the extraction. It is important to inform the dentist about the presence of diseases such as:
- diabetes
- problems with the circulatory system
- liver problems
- diseases that lower the immune system
Your dentist may also prescribe antibiotics or painkillers before your extraction procedure. Painkillers are needed if the patient experiences toothache from a tooth that needs to be extracted. Antibiotics are prescribed in cases where some kind of infection has already entered the root of the tooth or purulent inflammation of the dentin has begun. In the latter case, doctors not only prescribe antibiotics but also prescribe surgery as soon as possible.
Dental Extraction Procedure During Non-surgical Method
The operation begins with the application of local anaesthesia. During the surgery, the task of the doctor is to first loosen the tooth in the mouth and then extract it. The tooth is loosened with the help of special medical instruments, namely an elevator or dental forceps. After this process, the doctor uses a clean gauze or dental swab to stop the bleeding. This completes the main part of the procedure.
The Extraction Procedure During the Surgical Method
During this method of teeth extraction, the dentist first injects anaesthesia. An extraction treatment involves either general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia. It all depends on the length of the operation and the depth of the incision to be made.
After the anaesthesia has taken effect, the dental surgeon makes an incision in the gum. A tooth can be removed either in parts or all at once, it all depends on its placement. Next, the site of tooth extraction is thoroughly washed to remove all possible infections and germs in the area where the tooth was located. This is a particularly important and necessary step if the reason for the extraction of the tooth was purulent inflammation of the dentin or nerve of the tooth.
The operation ends when the surgeon closes the gum. Depending on the depth of the incision, the surgeon can decide whether or not to suture the gum with conventional surgical sutures.
Recovery Period
After the operation, of course, the body needs more time to recover than after a non-surgical method of teeth extraction. Depending on what caused the tooth extraction, the doctor may prescribe antibiotics and painkillers. For some time after the anaesthesia wears off, the patient may feel discomfort in the gum area where the tooth was.
In addition to this, the patient may experience swelling in the place where the tooth was removed. To make it less noticeable, some doctors recommend applying an ice pack for no more than 5-10 minutes at a time. This will not only help with the swelling but may also reduce pain.
After the extraction procedure, you should also stop rinsing your mouth for 24 hours after the surgery. Also, dentists recommend quitting smoking a few days before and after tooth extraction. These are important tips to follow if you want the healing process to go smoothly. Although the surgeon sews up the wound on the gums, any infection can still be introduced into it. That is why it is not recommended to use any mouthwash during the first 24 hours. At the same time, you can brush your teeth but do not rinse your mouth with water.
The Parmire dentists also recommend eating only soft foods for the first two days after surgery. This is important because solid food can injure gums that have not yet healed up, cause pain, bleeding and, accordingly, additional complications that only doctors can solve and fix. We recommend that you carefully consider all the advice of our doctors so that the treatment is successful and without unnecessary complications.
Tooth Extraction risks
There are always risks after every surgery. Of course, the benefits of this treatment are more significant than the possible side effects. However, the patient needs to know which side effects are not the norm after this treatment, and if they occur, they should immediately consult a doctor.
These side effects include:
- severe pain in the area of tooth extraction that cannot be anaesthetised with medicines
- heavy bleeding
- nausea
- rising heat
- difficulty swallowing
Our experienced dentists are ready to do everything to make your treatment successful and give a quality result.
